Apple Spent Billions: Still Can’t Escape Qualcomm!

Ana sayfa / News

Apple has been investing heavily in developing its own cellular modem chips for a long time. According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Apple has not given up on this project. On the contrary, the company is investing billions of dollars and dedicating millions of hours of labor to this technology. However, it’s not an easy process. Apple is facing significant challenges. So why hasn’t all this investment and effort paid off yet?

Currently, Apple uses modem chips produced by Qualcomm in its iPhones. However, the company is determined to end this dependency. Apple aims to develop its own modem chips, and it is making substantial investments in this area. But things are not always going as planned. Apple’s self-developed modems are struggling with issues like signal strength and overheating.

Apple’s goal is to have chips entirely developed in-house at the heart of its iPhones. This would reduce costs and give the company more control over its products. However, there are still some obstacles in this path, and it seems that overcoming them will take time.

Apple issued a warning to concept designer: Too realistic!

When concept designer Antonio De Rosa created an overly realistic iPhone design, he received a polite warning from Apple's lawyers.

According to Mark Gurman, Apple is not only working on developing an independent modem but also on a “more integrated” chip that incorporates cellular hardware functions based on its existing SoC (System on Chip) design. However, there are currently few details available about this chip. There is also no clear information on when Apple will complete this project and bring it to market.

Apple’s investment of billions of dollars and millions of hours of labor into this project shows how serious the company is. Successfully developing this chip could enable Apple to use its own modems not only in iPhones but also in other products. However, this appears to be a long and challenging process.

What do you think about Apple’s efforts? What benefits would developing its own modem technology bring to iPhone users? Do you believe Apple will successfully complete this project? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
